Update

So it's been awhile..a long while. I've had sooo much goin on lately. I started working for Sephora about a couple months ago. Now I thought of sephora as my dream job. I thought oh I'll start at the retail level and then work my way up into either a makeup artist or brand rep. Well reality set in on my first day and I realized my dream job wasn't such a dream. I absolutely hated it. I only worked there for 2 weeks and it was one of the worst jobs I had ever had. And in my orientation my managers kept goin on and on about how much gratis you get and blah blah. Of course gratis wasn't the only reason I worked there but it was definitely a perk. I am grateful for anything but I was given a bag of gratis on maybe my third or fourth day. I was so excited to get home and open it up. It was just a bunch of things that I won't ever use and it was mostly samples like you get with your 100-point perks. The only full size product I received was a bronzer that was lighter than my skin lol. So I was a little disappointed. But still I thought it would get better and I kept tellin myself this is a career your making for yourself it's not about the gratis. It didn't get any better and I was miserable. So a week into working there I went to the MAC counter to see what newness they had and surprise surprise the manager asked me to fill out an application. Fast forward to today and I've been with MAC almost a month now and I am absolutely loving it. It is retail so of course there are bad days but I get to do what I love all day which is play in makeup. Also the gratis is actually things I can use so that's a major plus. And I have an amazing discount so some major hauls are on the way. I've been getting gratis about every 7-10 days but just a couple things from a collection at a time. So I'm gonna try to hold all the items so I can do a gratis haul every 3 months or so. Anyways it's late and I open in the morning so I better go to bed. Night loves!

Rambling

Hey loves! How is everyone's weekend going so far? Mine is pretty good so far. I spent last night just hanging out with my boyfriend. Just a super casual low key night. It was great. And tonight I'm staying in watching The Dark Knight Rises and doing some organizing. Sounds amazing right? Lol. I'm always on the go and always moving pretty much 24/7 so when I get the chance to spend a night alone doing basically nothing, I jump at it. So anyways. There is actually no point in this post just a bit of a ramble. As I am sure you will come to find out, I am a bit of a product junkie and lately I have really been on a skincare kick. I am browsing Sephoras website and reading reviews. I am in the market for a good exfoliater. Any suggestions? I am leaning towards Kate Somerville Exfolikate. I am really interested in trying more of her line. I am sure I will let you know whatever I choose. As I was saying, I'm watching The Dark Knight Rises and I'm absolutely in love with Bane. I'm sure that makes me sound like a weirdo but I don't care. Well I guess it's time to end this post before it goes into super strange territory lol. See you soon!

Skincare Routine

I decided what better way to kick off a beauty blog than with my skincare routine. As we all know skincare is the basis of any good beauty routine. Let me give you a little background on my skin..I have very sensitive combination acne prone skin. I get acne breakouts usually on my cheeks and I have really bad post acne scarring. I also have eczema so in the places that I am dry ( which on my face is my cheeks) i am severely dry. My t-zone is super oily. So as you can tell so far my face works in extremes. I've tried Proactiv (too harsh), Cetaphil (not harsh enough), and just about everything in between. I've read enough beauty manuals and magazines to know that for a skincare routine to truly work you need to cleanse, tone, moisturize and treat. One day in mid April I decided to sit down with my iPad and just read tons of reviews on Sephora and put together my own routine.

First I started with a cleanser. I knew I wanted something with salicylic acid to help with acne but I also knew my extremely sensitive skin could not take anything to harsh. I really love gel cleansers so I decided to pick up Philosophy Clear Days Ahead.

Next up was a toner. I again needed needed something fit for Goldilocks :). Not too hard, not too soft, but just right. Most toners contain alcohol so I was looking for one that did not contain any or at least not too much. I decided on Origins United State.
As I stated, I have some post acne scarring and that is a major concern of mine so I really wanted a treatment that garnered great reviews. This Kate Somerville D-Scar has almost 5 stars so I decided to give it a shot.
Lastly of course I needed a moisturizer. This was the hardest part for me because as I stated I have very dry but also very oily skin. I surprisingly decided on an oil moisturizer. I know crazy right?! But this Josie Maran Argan Oil is the bees knees guys!

So Ive been using this routine for a couple months now and let me tell you my skin is seriously the best its ever been. What skincare have you guys been loving? Leave a comment and let me know!
